Educational Goals

At Sage we recognise that learning is a unique experience for every child.

We believe that children make meaning of their worlds through play, and they use play to build upon their understandings. Child-led play is the most effective tool to support children’s emerging skills and abilities. As educators, we scaffold children’s learning through involving ourselves in their world of play and use teachable moments to extend on their understandings through ways that capture their interests.

We use intentional teaching strategies to ensure we are purposeful and deliberate when educating children. This allows us to expose them to knowledge, skills and concepts that they may not discover on their own. With intentional teaching we have clear learning goals for children and support them in achieving these outcomes.

Our goal is to provide a service that celebrates learning, honours diversity and embeds the invaluable involvement of families and community in which every child is a part of.  Children have a right to an education and a right to play and this is at the core of our practices.

As educators, we actively engage in children’s play, using teachable moments to expand their understanding in ways that capture their interests. Our practices ensure that children are well-prepared for their schooling journey, equipped with the necessary skills to succeed.

"Every child is a different kind of flower, and all together, they make this world a beautiful garden."
